How To: Enable UI debugging for XAML

Visual Studio 2015 comes with tool that enables the UI debugging for XAML at runtime.

The UI debugging tool for XAML helps diagnose the Design and Layout issues in the XAML applications.

The first of these tools are

  1. The Live Visual Tree and
  2. The Live Property Explorer

To enable the UI debugging for XAML, follow the steps

  1. In Visual Studio go to Tools
  2. Select Options
  3. Go to Debugging Section
  4. Look for Enable UI Debugging Tools for XAML 
  5. Check the Preview selected elements in Live Visual Tree

These tools help diagnose and review the visual tree of running desktop application written in WPF application and also properties of any element in the tree.
