I see what you are doing. However its very hard to debug this issue, since I have never used jquery before. Can you reproduce the behaviour on a new small website project and send me that along with all required files (use fake data etc..)? Once we receive that file, we can help you to fix this issue...

The DataKeyName is only used if you want to keep a primary key for edit/update's - If you just reading the data simply into the GridView, then you won't need it.
