    Sr Portal Administrator Contract Opportunity in Atlanta, GA

     

    Serves as Portal Administrator for production intranet portal for internal customers. Monitors user requests and system issues. Serves as support in responding to and diagnosing production support problems. Interacts effectively with internal customers and appropriate system vendors to conduct necessary research to resolve issues. Ensures documentation standards and procedures for operations are in place. Actively seeks and evaluates opportunities for process improvement.  Creates reports and provides a means to verify the integrity of existing infrastructure. Will work on-call to support planned releases and urgent break fixes.

    Major Functions

    ·       Provides application support in all aspects of the platform.

    ·       Installs, configures, upgrades, troubleshoots, monitors, and maintains application.

    ·       Evaluates and recommends changes to support procedures as part of an ongoing assessment of daily operations.

    ·       Recommends hardware/software enhancements to application systems.

    ·       Consults with customers on all aspects of end-user issues. 

    ·       Resolves more complex, less defined issues.

    ·       Works independently in troubleshooting and providing solutions to unresolved problems through trouble-ticket system.

    ·       Maintains passwords, data integrity and systems security for the application environment.

    ·       Provides technical support and guidance through tier III support, training and publication of documentation.

    ·       Conducts site surveys and implements moves.

    ·       Adds/changes/modifications to existing equipment through work request system.

    ·       Evaluates, maintains, modifies (e.g. creates macros, templates), and documents  application packages; participates in the testing and evaluation of new packages/applications.

    ·       Implements prototypes, and consults with customers on selection of software applications.

    ·       Manages production assets (hardware, software, etc.) using asset management tools.

    ·       May provide functional guidance, advice, and/or training to less experienced support employees.

    Experience

    ·       Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline.

    ·       Generally 8+ years experience in related field.

    ·       2+ years working with ALUI Portal 6.5.

    ·       5+ years working with Plumtree/ALUI Portal versions.

    ·       4+ years working with SQL Server.

    ·       4+ years working with Windows 2000 and 2003.

    ·       4+ years working as a portal administrator function.
