Are you happy as in you don't need to have a Mac OSX to test your web apps? or are you happy just for being able to use the browser on a PC? I've read reports that the rendering is as bad as iTunes on Vista, where half of the UI is black until you roll over the affected areas :-( Reading the page of Safari I find it very hard to believe that it boots faster than IE7 - from all the browsers that I've used IE7 start up time is really very fast. But my biggest gripe is the same as the one of iTunes, now in the Windows world best practices defines that there is a consistant look and feel to all windows applications - but Apple ignore this by using that chrome l&f, just seems totally wrong to me but maybe I'm looking to deep into it :-( Personally I prefer aero to that of Mac OSX. Roll on IE8 so we can put Safari to bed! I'm not much of a browser man though so I could be very wrong!

Yes, I am happy. The reason is simple. I need to test my web applications in Safari. I personally do not use a Mac at all, and its kind of annoying to switch computers just to test the web application. I haven't downloaded Safari yet for windows and I saw already some news on Slashdot about several bugs. I might wait a little bit, before trying it out after all.

I am with you regarding the consistent look. Mac's look is really cool, however it needs to be consistent or at least provide options to change it when running on windows.

I think you've just summarized what many developers would say right now :-) It's good that we no longer have to use some redundant "good looking" machine in the corner anymore, but at the same time many won't really use it for their primary browser - could be wrong though. I don't think Apple will ever change the UI stuff though as its there kind of company symbol. I'm curious as to whether the PC version will in fact operate like the Mac version - is the codebase the same? There may still be some differences between the two!

I do not think that I will be using Safari as my default browser either. Even if I had a mac myself, I would probably use Firefox. I am not sure if the codebase is the same or not. I know that there are several themes on the net to change your applications to look like the Mac UI, maybe there is the same available to convert Mac themes to Windows, but then again, who wants to go through the hassle - I wouldn't even waste my time on that ;)
