ASP.NET ComboBox, AJAX Way
Last month I wrote an article about how to build a simple ComboBox in ASP.NET. And I've mentioned the limitiations of the existing ASP.NET DropDownList control in my blog.
Now I'm going a bit further. Recenlty I thought about how ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 provide a simple way and rich client library to build Extended Server Controls with Client Interaction. ASP.NET AJAX didn't provide a mean to partially render your page or communicate with a web service from your client code, it also provide rich client library to enable us to build rich controls in order to enhance client experiance.
I thought of rebuilding ASP.NET ComboBox control using ASP.NET AJAX 1.0. I just gain benefit from the rich client libaray provided by ASP.NET AJAX 1.0. Later, I might add addition UI features e.g animations or any other UI effect that might seem applicable.
The ComboBox "AjaxComboBox" will allow auto complete which will search in the list items of the ComboBox.
Also I'll provide some keyboard contol which was missing.
Hope this will be avaiable soon and I'll post the code with comperhensive article.
