IE6 & IE7 On Same Machine!!

There is a situation where you need both IE versions on the same machine to test your web application. Now you can still run IE6 even if you have IE7 installed on your computer. Just download the file attached and extract it.

Thanks to my friend Hisham for providing this stand alone IE6 version.

Hope this helps.

The program from the zip works, it has the IE6 interface... but in fact it's IE7. Goto Help - About IE... and you can see there... the real version.

Soo... this doesn't work.

Spawn you are correct, but the dll is IE6 and not IE7. you can be sure of this by going to tools/internet options where you can find the options related to IE6 and not to the newly internet explorer.

Thank you for your comments.

IT works, only in "About" box there is version 7.

Interesting :-)

It seems that ASP pages do a constant reload with these files.  It's pretty cool that my computer's page refresh sounds sound like a machine gun, but the fact that the page constantly reloads stinks.

Works great, much better solution than that lame vpc thing I've found on the MSDN IE blog. It renders everything like IE6 so it's good form me ;)

Is this specific to XP? I'm not getting it to work in Vista, either natively or with XP compatibility checked.

Yes i think it is XP specific version.
